Spinach Can Be Yummy

Ciao! Katie is up to a lot of things so we though we would just leave you all with a fun post. I love spinach, done with olive oil and few spices (like in Italy) or done the Turkish way with yogurt. I followed this here at Almost Turkish (Yoğurtlu Ispanak), but changed it up a bit. FOr example, I did not want to put rice in it, and I used some different spices. To Balkan it up a bit the tomato paste was replaced by Ajvar (Croatian product eggplant, peppers, and tomato) that gives it an extra zing I love. I also would usually use my Vegetz spice, but since I forgot it at Keli's house I replaced it with some curry. Paprika is a must! I mean I follow recipes, but always love to add my own ingredients because that makes a difference. So enjoy here are some pictures:

DO NOT USE SWEET YOGURT!

 GARLIC & ONIONS CHOPPED UP
I PREFER FRESH SPINACH (SAVES TIME ON THAWING FROZEN)

ADD SPICES BEFORE YOU ADD THE SPINACH
ADD A LITTLE AT A TIME & REMEMBER YOU NEED ALOT TO MAKE ALOT
TASTE TO MAKE SURE SEASONING IS JUST RIGHT
I would continually taste it to make sure the flavors are there. Usually when I plate I just add the portion to my plate as I did last night. I think this way you eat a certain amount and try not to go back for seconds. It is my approach to eating, but stopping when I am full rather than continuously exploding. You can also plate this on its own with a dollop of yogurt, sprinkle a little paprika over the dollop for color blast and excellent presentation! Enjoy, Te Boft Mire (as we would say )!
